ABOUT
HackCCA is a week-long event where girls from all over San Diego come together to team up and engage in collaborative computer programming. In order to make the event accessible to all, we are planning to host HackCCA as a virtual event. Participants will be building, learning, and creating website projects from scratch. Websites and mobile apps are common types of hacks, but you can build anything! Think outside the box!
THE EVENT
The HackCCA event is consists of two sessions: the Learnathon and the Hackathon.
LEARNATHON
Monday, July 18 - Thursday, July 21
• Participants will be introduced to the basics of frontend web development.
• 5 workshops that teach participants everything they will need to know about the World Wide Web, the HTML markup language, the basics of web design (UX/UI), as well as the CSS styling language.
• Daily "Challenge of the Day" (COTD) to help participants hone their web development skills and get ready for the Hackathon.
• Guest speakers, all women in tech, will share their journey and expertise in the tech industry.​
HACKATHON
Friday, July 22 - Saturday, July 23
Participants will team up with other girls in the same grade level and develop a website project based on the theme. The members of the CCA Girls Who Code will be available to guide and assist participants with their projects.
PRESENTATION & AWARD CEREMONY
Sunday, July 24
As a team, participants will deliver a max. 3 minutes pitch presentation to the judges. Winners will be announced during the evening Award & Closing Ceremony.
