WHAT IS A HACKATHON?

A hackathon is an event in which a large number of people meet to engage in collaborative computer programming. Our event will focus on frontend web development. By the end of the event, participants will learn to build and publish a website.

WHAT IS A LEARNATHON?

Our learnathon is a precursor event to the hackathon. It is designed to introduce the necessary knowledge that participants will need to compete. The 4 days session will not only contain a crash course on web development, but also chances to talk with professionals in tech.

DO I NEED CODING EXPERIENCE?

Nope! Our Learnathon event includes an introductory web development curriculum that will teach you everything you need to know about coding a website.

WHAT CAN I GET OUT OF THIS EVENT?

By the end of the program, you will have learned how to create and publish a website. The winners of each age division will also get prizes and shirts.

HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL PARTICIPATE IN THIS EVENT?

We expect around 200~300 girls to sign up to our event. We will assign each participants to their respective age division and ensure that everyone has a chance to experience & learn to the fullest.

HOW WILL THE JUDGING WORK?

We will judge all project submissions based on the aesthetic, informativeness, as well as the user experience of the website. Our panel of judges will consist of the HackCCA staff members, the guest speakers who are professionals in tech, and Girls Who Code alumnae.
